Addis Ababa is world’s 9th best city to visit in 2013 by Lonely Planet

Internationally famous travel guide book The Lonely Planet has named Addis Ababa as number nine destination in the world to visit in year 2013. These cities made it to the list for a different reasons, for special events, recent developments and growth or that the destination is up-and-coming and worth visiting before the crowds get too big. This rings a bell for me too that i've to make at least a short trip to my homeland (birthplace). Which i'm sure must have changed a lot from the last time I saw the city.

Ethiopia is known for the enduring runners around the world. This is an event called  "The Great Run"

Founded little more than a century ago, Addis Ababa, which in Amharic means ‘New Flower’, is not only the diplomatic capital of Africa and a thriving metropolis, but also a groovy city that takes pride in its multifaceted assets.
